Redhill

Redhill

Paul Bowen has emailed me a number of photos of what seems to be a WW2 era structure similar in size to a pillbox and of similar construction (ie brick shuttering, re-inforced concrete roof etc). Entrance is blocked up, and only one small vent/aperture is evident. Beside it is a circular brick form at ground level (possibly an in-filled pit) with an iron cover close by (like a metal 'dust-bin lid').

It lies at the foot of the south-facing slope of a ridge not far from Redhill Aerodrome, adjacent to a minor road running up the hill.

Any ideas?
