A rare purpose built gun emplacement with remnants of its original camouflage paint and pitched roof to disguise it from the air stands on the River Dove at Ellastone. SK120425

It was probably built to house a 2 or 6 pounder gun and would have had further defences such as trenches in case of close infantry attack. This photo shows the bridge that the emplacement covers.
