Louverval Memorial To the Missing

My interest in the Battle of Cambrai came about by chance when I discovered that I had a Great Uncle who was killed in the 1917 battle. 2nd Lieutenant Sydney Elphick Sanders served in the 6th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment and was killed on 30th November 1917. He has no known grave and is listed on the Cambrai Memorial to the Missing at Louverval.

I visited the battlefield in November 2006, exactly 89 years after the battle. I hope you find my photos interesting.

I welcome contributions from others who have visited the battlefield and intend that this site is a collaborative effort to preserve the memory of those who died on both sides 90 years ago.
